Hampton Manor
Hamptons Manor is a classically proportioned Georgian house in a very accessible, yet rural location about 15 minute’s drive from the M25. The nearest train stations are Tonbridge and Hildenborough, both about 12 minutes by taxi to he house. The house is not on a flight path [although the odd plane ie Spitfires do fly over] and there is minimal road noise. There is an imposing main entrance with four large pillars.Once inside the interior is pure Georgian with a magnificent entrance hall of beautifully worn stone flooring. The rest of the rooms downstairs are all polished wooden floors with gorgeous rugs and very high ceilings, typical of a grand house built in 1820. The windows are all large giving beautiful light to the house.
The morning room and drawing rooms can be opened up into one large space via two large double doors, and the adjacent dining room seats fourteen comfortably. The kitchen is very large and features an Aga.
The staircase is Portland stone and it leads to four available bedrooms that have all been styled in completely classical décor. Bedrooms all feature king/ double beds and are carpeted in an neutral palette.Four available bathrooms also which again features classical décor. One includes a ball and claw bath double sink and wooden floor while the others feature wardrobes, shower and freestanding bath with double basin.
Hamptons Manor has a large cellar that is the same dimensions as the ground and first floor. The gardens are beautiful with a fine listed colonnade at the rear and both formal and informal areas. There is also a large greenhouse with a semi enclosed garden behind it.
