Summer is almost here! So before you get yourself out on the beach, check out these must remember tips by beauty expert Lisa Valencia.

Q: What should be my makeup routine before a day at the beach?
Before going to the beach always make sure you are wearing plenty of SPF. Alternatively you could use a bb cream with SPF, which will also help even out your skin tone.
I always like to dye my lashes before going away or have a few individual lashes added to add definition to my eyes, but you can also just wear a waterproof mascara if this is easier.
Q: I'm going straight from the beach to a party. What's a no-fuss way to freshen up my look?
To update your beach look to a party look, try adding a bright lip. I love Mac's 'Lady Danger'. It's a bright orange red and looks great with a tan! For added glow try Benefit's 'Watts App' on your cheek bones. Remember strong lips work really well with a natural face - it's the modern way to wear lip colour. Why not plait your hair during the day, and then add some dry shampoo in the evening. This will leave you with gorgeous beachy wavy mermaid hair for your night out.
Q: How do I get a healthy glow to my skin in the summer without looking too shiny?
Highlighters are great in the summer. You can also control which areas you use them on. I love Bourjois illuminating primer as this adds a gentle glow to your skin without looking oily. You can then add you favourite highlighter to your cheek bones, a glossy lip, some cream blush, plenty of black mascara and you will have a beautiful summer glow!
Q: Should I use different products in the summer to those I use in the winter?
Your skin needs plenty of protection during the summer and can become dry if exposed to too much sun, so ensure that you keep your skin well moisturised and always use an SPF. If you have a tan, you'll probably need less coverage, so why not try a tinted moisturiser instead of a foundation? I love Laura Mercier tinted moisturisers, and Clinique CC cream - they even out your skin tone without looking too heavy. Also try adding a cream blush as they always look fresh and glowy! Bobbi Brown in Calypso suits most skin tones.
