Liz Martins is a renowned makeup artist, men’s groomer and beauty expert with a career spanning 30 years in fashion, music, film and television, working for the likes of Vogue, Netflix, Gucci and celebrities Kate Moss, Rita Ora, Jared Leto and Raye.
Her reputation as a maverick and image creator has made her an artist in demand, regularly requested by A-list talent for red carpet events from BAFTA, Cannes and Press Junkets in London and New York, where she has worked with Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, Jenna Coleman, Emily Watson, Gillian Anderson, Ellie Bamber, Emma Thompson, Ewan McGregor, Aaron Johnson, James McAvoy, Ben Whishaw and Tom Hardy.
Liz completed her Makeup Artistry diploma at The London College of Fashion, developing her makeup style inspired by subcultures and glamorous minimalism characterised by the time we now call the era of ‘Cool Brittania’. Her blend of technical proficiency and skill quickly gained the attention of editors when she moved into fashion editorial, shooting covers for ID, Dazed and Confused, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and Sunday Times Style, working with icons Kate Moss, Giselle Bündchen, and Behati Prinsloo.
Her creative vision, agility and transformative skills were noticed by the fashion elites when she was invited to work as the lead makeup designer for several Fashion Weeks, heading up runway shows in London, Paris and Milan and working for Alexander McQueen, Tom Ford, Gucci, Versace and Moschino.
Known for her vibrant personality, creativity, meticulous attention, and deep understanding of culture resulted in a natural progression in TV, Film and music. Work includes Back to Black, Bridgerton, Missing You, The Gentleman (all Netflix), Naomi Campbell’s The Face (Sky TV) and X Factor, where she was the head of department and designer.
Her communication skills and ability to create a variety of looks from dramatic to minimal have led to collaborations as an image designer for musicians Rita Ora, Anne Marie, Lilly Allen, Nick Cave, Shakira, Beverly Knight, Bryan Adams, Duran Duran, Girls Aloud, The Spice Girls, The Pussy Cat Dolls, The Script and One Direction.
As a Key Opinion Leader in the beauty industry, Liz has worked closely with cosmetic and skincare brands as a consultant and on brand partnerships. Previous collaborations include Eyelure and Salon Systems, where she developed her own false lashes line called “Liz Martins Lash Enhance”.

Liz also regularly contributes as a beauty writer for editorial publications and has been on the judging panel for several makeup awards and competitions. Her work as a makeup artist tutor has allowed her to mentor and educate students from all over the world. She is fluent in English, Portuguese & Spanish and conversational French.
